Desc | Grave of actor John Joseph "Jack" Haley and his wife Florence at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California (grotto, lot 100, grave 2). Haley was born August 10, 1897 in Boston, Massachusetts, and is best known for playing the Tin Man in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He died of a heart attack on June 6, 1979 in Los Angeles, California at age 81. His wife, Florence McFadden, is buried with him: She was born January 1, 1902 in New Jersey, married Haley in 1921, and died on December 30, 1996. Her dates of birth and death are omitted from the couple's shared gravestone. They had one son, Jack Haley, Jr. (October 25, 1933 – April 21, 2001), who is buried next to them. |
