About Alexander Skarsgård
Alexander Skarsgård: The True Blooded Actor
Alexander Skarsgård was born on August 25, 1976, in Stockholm, Sweden. He is the son of actor Stellan Skarsgård and his first wife, My Skarsgård. Alexander grew up in a family of actors, with four younger siblings who are also in the entertainment industry.
Skarsgård began his acting career at the age of seven, appearing in the Swedish film Åke and His World. He continued to act in Swedish films and television shows throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 2001, he graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City with a degree in theater.
Skarsgård's breakthrough role came in 2008 when he was cast as Eric Northman in the HBO series True Blood. The show, which was based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries novels by Charlaine Harris, ran for seven seasons and made Skarsgård a household name.
Since True Blood, Skarsgård has continued to work in both film and television. He has appeared in movies such as Melancholia, The Legend of Tarzan, and The Diary of a Teenage Girl. He also starred in the HBO limited series Big Little Lies, for which he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie.
Skarsgård is known for his intense and brooding performances, often playing characters with a dark side. He has been praised for his ability to convey complex emotions with just a look or a gesture.
Off-screen, Skarsgård is known for his environmental activism. He is a supporter of Greenpeace and has worked to raise awareness about climate change and the importance of protecting the planet.
