About Alice Fulks

Alice Fulks: The Actress Who Found Her Voice

Alice Fulks was born on January 16, 1982, in Los Angeles, California. From a young age, she knew she wanted to be an actress. She attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City, where she honed her craft and developed her unique voice.

Fulks made her film debut in 2004, with a small role in the indie film "The Station Agent." She went on to appear in several other independent films, including "The Savages" and "The Visitor," before landing her breakout role in the 2010 film "Winter's Bone." Her performance as Ree Dolly, a young woman searching for her missing father in the Ozarks, earned her critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

Since then, Fulks has continued to challenge herself with a variety of roles. She played a drug addict in the 2012 film "The Master," a grieving mother in the 2016 film "Nocturnal Animals," and a punk rock singer in the 2018 film "Her Smell." In each role, she brings a raw intensity and vulnerability that has become her trademark.

Off-screen, Fulks is known for her activism and outspokenness. She has been a vocal advocate for women's rights and has spoken out against sexual harassment in the entertainment industry. In 2017, she was one of the founders of the Time's Up movement, which aims to combat sexual harassment and inequality in Hollywood and beyond.

Despite her success, Fulks remains grounded and focused on her craft. She continues to seek out challenging roles and push herself as an actress. As she told Rolling Stone in a 2018 interview, "I want to keep exploring different parts of myself and different parts of the world. I want to keep growing and evolving as an artist."
