He was a Spanish writer known for his work on Séneca o el beneficio de la duda and Carmen, Carmen.

He has four siblings Manuel Gala Velasco, Luis Gala Velasco, Adoración Gala Velasco and Santiago Gala Velasco.

He has been a member of Academia de las Artes Escénicas de España.
