Chris Wedge is a man of many talents. Born on March 20, 1957, in Binghamton, New York, Wedge is an American animator, director, producer, and writer who has made a significant impact on the world of animation. He is best known for his work on the Ice Age franchise, which has grossed over $6 billion worldwide.
Wedge's passion for animation began at an early age. He attended Fayetteville-Manlius High School in New York, where he created his first animated short film. He went on to study at the State University of New York at Purchase, where he honed his skills in animation and film.
In 1987, Wedge co-founded Blue Sky Studios, an animation studio that has produced some of the most successful animated films of all time. He directed the studio's first feature film, Ice Age, in 2002, which was a massive success and spawned four sequels. Wedge also directed the critically acclaimed animated film, Robots, in 2005.
Wedge's work has earned him numerous awards and accolades. He won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1999 for his film, Bunny, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for Ice Age in 2003.
