About Dean Martin
Dean Martin was the epitome of cool. Born in Steubenville, Ohio in 1917, he rose to fame as a singer, actor, comedian, and film producer. His smooth voice and effortless charm made him a beloved icon of the entertainment industry.
Martin began his career as a nightclub singer, performing with Jerry Lewis in the 1940s. The duo became one of the most popular comedy acts of the era, and Martin's crooning voice soon became a hit with audiences. He went on to record dozens of albums, including hits like "That's Amore" and "Everybody Loves Somebody."
In addition to his music career, Martin was a successful actor, appearing in films like "Rio Bravo" and "Ocean's Eleven." He also starred in his own television variety show, "The Dean Martin Show," which ran from 1965 to 1974.
Offstage, Martin was known for his laid-back, party-loving lifestyle. He was a member of the infamous "Rat Pack," along with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., and was often seen drinking and smoking on stage. Despite his reputation as a playboy, Martin was also a devoted family man, with four children from his two marriages.
Martin passed away in 1995, but his legacy lives on. He remains one of the most beloved entertainers of all time, with a career that spanned over five decades. His smooth voice and effortless charm continue to captivate audiences to this day.

About Death
Martin, a heavy smoker, was diagnosed with lung cancer at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in September 1993, and was told that he would require surgery to prolong his life, but he rejected it. He retired from public life in early 1995 and died of acute respiratory failure resulting from emphysema at his Beverly Hills home on Christmas Day, 1995 at the age of 78. The lights of the Las Vegas Strip were dimmed in his honor. Martin's body was interred at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles. The crypt features the epitaph "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime", the title of his signature song.
