About Dean Norris
Dean Norris: From Breaking Bad to Big Bang Theory
Dean Norris was born on April 8, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana. He grew up in a family of six children and attended Harvard University, where he studied social studies. After graduation, he moved to San Francisco and worked as a social worker for a few years before deciding to pursue acting.
Norris began his acting career in the late 1980s, appearing in small roles in films such as Lethal Weapon 2 and Total Recall. He also had guest roles on TV shows like The X-Files and NYPD Blue. However, it wasn't until his role as DEA agent Hank Schrader on the hit AMC series Breaking Bad that Norris became a household name.
Norris's portrayal of Schrader, the tough and sometimes abrasive brother-in-law of main character Walter White, earned him critical acclaim and several award nominations. He was also a regular on the CBS series Under the Dome and had recurring roles on shows like The Big Bang Theory and Claws.
In addition to his TV work, Norris has appeared in films such as Little Miss Sunshine and The Counselor. He also has a passion for theater and has performed in productions of plays like Death of a Salesman and The Cherry Orchard.
Off-screen, Norris is known for his philanthropic work, particularly in support of veterans and their families. He has also been vocal about his political views, often using his social media platforms to express his opinions.
Despite his success, Norris remains humble and grounded. In a 2019 interview with The Guardian, he said, "I'm just a guy who's been lucky enough to work in this business for a long time. I don't take any of it for granted."
