He was also a successful television actor in the 1980s and 1990s, and his performance in the science fiction series "Quantum Leap" earned him a Golden Globe Award.

Stockwell's acting career began when he was just seven years old, and he appeared in several films, including "Anchors Aweigh" (1945) and "The Green Years" (1946). He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Gentleman's Agreement" (1947) when he was just 11 years old.

Stockwell's career continued to flourish in the 1980s and 1990s, and he appeared in several popular television shows, including "Murder, She Wrote," "Battlestar Galactica," and "JAG."
