About Dick York

Dick York was a talented actor who rose to fame in the 1960s for his role as Darrin Stephens in the hit television series "Bewitched." Born on September 4, 1928, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, York began his acting career in the 1950s, appearing in various television shows and films.

In 1964, York landed the role of Darrin Stephens in "Bewitched," which would become his most famous role. He played the character for five seasons, earning critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. However, York's time on the show was cut short due to health issues, and he was forced to leave the series in 1969.

Despite his departure from "Bewitched," York continued to act in various television shows and films throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He also became an advocate for mental health awareness, speaking openly about his struggles with bipolar disorder.

Sadly, York's health continued to decline, and he passed away on February 20, 1992, at the age of 63. However, his legacy as a talented actor and mental health advocate lives on.

About Death

York died of complications from emphysema at Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids, Michigan, on February 20, 1992 at age 63. He is buried in Plainfield Cemetery in Rockford, Michigan.
