About Ed Begley, Jr.
Ed Begley Jr.: The Green Crusader
Ed Begley Jr. is a man on a mission. The American actor and environmentalist has spent his entire life advocating for a cleaner, greener planet. Born on September 16, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, Begley Jr. grew up in a family of performers. His father, Ed Begley Sr., was a well-known actor, and his mother, Allene Jeanne Sanders, was a stage actress.
Begley Jr. began his acting career in the late 1960s, appearing in a number of TV shows and movies. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Dr. Victor Ehrlich on the hit TV series "St. Elsewhere" in the 1980s. But it was his passion for the environment that truly set him apart.
Begley Jr. has been a vocal advocate for environmental causes for over 40 years. He has served on the board of several environmental organizations, including the Environmental Media Association and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. He has also been a spokesperson for a number of green products and initiatives, including the Toyota Prius and the Nest Learning Thermostat.
But Begley Jr.'s commitment to the environment goes beyond just talk. He has been living a sustainable lifestyle for decades, long before it became trendy. He rides his bike or takes public transportation whenever possible, and he has installed solar panels on his home to generate his own electricity. He even composts his own food waste and uses it to fertilize his garden.
Begley Jr.'s dedication to the environment has earned him numerous awards and accolades. In 2013, he was awarded the Rachel Carson Award by the Audubon Society for his environmental activism. He has also been recognized by the Environmental Media Association and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
Despite his success as an actor and environmentalist, Begley Jr. remains humble and grounded. He once said, "I'm just a guy trying to do the right thing." And that's exactly what he's been doing for over four decades.
