About Elsa Peretti
Elsa Peretti was a true icon in the world of fashion and design. Born in Florence, Italy in 1940, she went on to become one of the most influential jewelry designers of the 20th century. Her designs were celebrated for their simplicity, elegance, and timeless beauty.
Peretti's career began in the 1960s, when she moved to New York City and began modeling for some of the biggest names in fashion. But it wasn't long before she began to explore her own creative talents. In 1974, she began designing jewelry for Tiffany & Co., and her designs quickly became some of the company's most popular and enduring pieces.
Peretti's designs were inspired by nature, and she often used organic shapes and materials in her work. Her signature pieces included the Bone Cuff, the Bean Pendant, and the Open Heart Pendant, all of which remain popular to this day.
But Peretti's impact went beyond the world of fashion and design. She was also a committed philanthropist, and she used her success to support a variety of causes, including the fight against HIV/AIDS and the protection of the environment.
Peretti passed away in March 2021 at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and influence generations to come. As Vogue put it, "Elsa Peretti was a true original, a woman who lived life on her own terms and left an indelible mark on the world of fashion and design."
