About Freddie Lindstrom
Freddie Lindstrom was a baseball player and coach who made a name for himself in the early 20th century. Born on November 21, 1905, in Chicago, Illinois, Lindstrom began his career as a third baseman for the New York Giants in 1924. He quickly established himself as a talented player, earning the nickname "The Flying Dutchman" for his speed and agility on the field.
Over the course of his career, Lindstrom played for several teams, including the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Chicago Cubs, and the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was known for his strong batting skills, hitting over .300 in nine seasons and earning four All-Star selections. He also had a reputation as a solid fielder, winning a Gold Glove award in 1930.
After retiring from playing in 1936, Lindstrom became a coach for the Giants and later the Cubs. He was known for his dedication to the game and his ability to inspire his players. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976.
