About Gary Hogeboom
Gary Hogeboom: From the Football Field to Reality TV
Gary Hogeboom was born on August 21, 1958, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended Central Michigan University, where he played quarterback for the Chippewas and set several school records. In 1980, he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of the NFL draft.
Hogeboom spent six seasons in the NFL, playing for the Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts, and Phoenix Cardinals. He was known for his strong arm and ability to make big plays, but also for his inconsistency and tendency to throw interceptions.
After retiring from football in 1989, Hogeboom pursued a career in real estate and became a successful businessman. But in 2008, he returned to the public eye as a contestant on the hit reality TV show Survivor.
Hogeboom was a cast member on Survivor: Guatemala, the eleventh season of the show. He was known for his athletic ability and strategic thinking, but also for his clashes with other contestants and his tendency to be a bit of a hothead.
Despite his strong performance on the show, Hogeboom was voted off in the eighth episode and became the fourth member of the jury. He later returned for the show's 20th season, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, but was voted off early in the game.
Today, Hogeboom is retired from both football and reality TV and lives in Michigan with his wife and children. He remains a beloved figure among fans of both Survivor and the NFL, and is remembered for his competitive spirit and larger-than-life personality.
