About Gerald McRaney
Gerald McRaney is a true Hollywood veteran, with a career spanning over five decades. Born in Collins, Mississippi in 1947, McRaney began his acting career in the late 1960s, appearing in a number of TV shows and movies throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
However, it was his role as private investigator Rick Simon in the hit TV series "Simon & Simon" that really put McRaney on the map. The show ran for eight seasons from 1981 to 1989, and McRaney's portrayal of the tough, no-nonsense detective earned him a legion of fans.
Since then, McRaney has continued to work steadily in both TV and film, with notable roles in shows like "Major Dad," "Deadwood," and "House of Cards," as well as movies like "The NeverEnding Story" and "The Best of Me."
But it's not just his acting skills that have made McRaney a beloved figure in Hollywood. He's also known for his warm personality and his dedication to his craft. In a 2019 interview with the Los Angeles Times, McRaney said, "I still love what I do. I love the process of acting, I love the people I work with, and I love the stories we get to tell."
McRaney has been married to actress Delta Burke since 1989, and the couple has been a fixture on the Hollywood scene for decades. In addition to his acting work, McRaney is also a passionate supporter of various charities, including the Wounded Warrior Project and the Alzheimer's Association.
