About Grant Imahara
Grant Imahara: The Engineer Who Became a TV Star
Grant Imahara was a man of many talents. Born in Los Angeles on October 23, 1970, he was an electrical engineer, roboticist, television host, and actor. He was best known for his work on the Discovery Channel's MythBusters, where he used his technical expertise to test the validity of popular myths and urban legends.
Imahara's interest in engineering began at an early age. He attended the University of Southern California, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. After graduation, he worked for Lucasfilm's THX division, where he helped design and build audio and video systems for movie theaters.
In 2005, Imahara joined the cast of MythBusters, where he quickly became a fan favorite. He was known for his calm demeanor and his ability to explain complex technical concepts in a way that was easy for viewers to understand. He also became known for his love of robots, and he often built his own robots to help test myths on the show.
After leaving MythBusters in 2014, Imahara continued to work in the entertainment industry. He worked as a consultant for movies and TV shows, helping to design and build special effects and animatronics. He also hosted the Netflix series White Rabbit Project, which explored the science behind various historical events and inventions.
Imahara's sudden death on July 13, 2020, shocked and saddened his fans around the world. He was remembered as a brilliant engineer and a beloved television personality who inspired countless people to pursue careers in science and technology.
