About June Foray
June Foray: The Voice of a Generation
June Foray was born on September 18, 1917, in Springfield, Massachusetts. She grew up with a passion for acting and began her career as a radio actress in the 1930s. However, it was her work as a voice actress that would make her a legend in the entertainment industry.
Foray's career spanned over seven decades, during which she lent her voice to countless animated characters. She was the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Natasha Fatale in "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show," Granny in "Looney Tunes," Cindy Lou Who in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and Jokey Smurf in "The Smurfs," among many others.
Foray's talent and versatility as a voice actress earned her numerous accolades, including a Daytime Emmy Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She was also inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2000.
Beyond her work in animation, Foray was also a trailblazer for women in the entertainment industry. She was a founding member of the International Animated Film Society and served as its president for several years. She also helped establish the Annie Awards, which recognize excellence in animation.
Foray passed away on July 26, 2017, at the age of 99. Her legacy as one of the greatest voice actresses of all time lives on through the countless characters she brought to life and the generations of fans she inspired.

About Death
On July 26, 2017, Foray died at a hospital in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 99, less than two months before her 100th birthday. She had been in declining health since an automobile accident in 2015.
