About Kelly Hu
Kelly Hu: The Action Heroine
Kelly Hu is a woman of many talents. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on February 13, 1968, she began her career as a model before transitioning to acting. Her striking looks and athletic abilities quickly made her a sought-after actress in Hollywood.
Hu's breakthrough role came in 1993 when she played the villainous Lady Deathstrike in the hit film X-Men 2. Her performance was praised for its intensity and physicality, and it cemented her status as an action star. She went on to appear in numerous action films, including The Scorpion King and Cradle 2 the Grave.
But Hu is more than just a pretty face. She has also lent her voice to several video games, including Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Mortal Kombat X. In addition, she is a passionate advocate for animal rights and has worked with organizations such as PETA and the Humane Society.
Despite her success, Hu has faced challenges in Hollywood as an Asian-American actress. In a 2019 interview with NBC News, she spoke about the lack of diversity in the industry and the need for more representation. "It's important for people to see themselves on screen," she said.
Despite these challenges, Hu has continued to thrive in Hollywood. She recently appeared in the hit series Arrow and has several projects in the works. With her talent, beauty, and dedication to social causes, Kelly Hu is a true Hollywood icon.
