About Ken Niumatalolo
Ken Niumatalolo: The Navy Football Coach Who Keeps Winning
Ken Niumatalolo was born on May 8, 1965, in Laie, Hawaii. He grew up in a family of football players and coaches, and it was no surprise when he decided to pursue a career in the sport. Niumatalolo played quarterback at the University of Hawaii, where he earned a degree in education.
After college, Niumatalolo began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Hawaii. He then moved on to coach at various high schools and colleges before landing a job as an assistant coach at the United States Naval Academy in 1995.
In 2007, Niumatalolo was named the head coach of the Navy football team, becoming the first Samoan head coach in Division I-A football. Since then, he has led the team to numerous victories, including a record-breaking 11-win season in 2015.
Niumatalolo's success can be attributed to his unique coaching style, which emphasizes discipline, hard work, and teamwork. He is known for his ability to motivate his players and instill in them a sense of pride and commitment to the Navy.
Off the field, Niumatalolo is a devoted family man and a devout Mormon. He is married to Barbara Niumatalolo, and they have three children together.
Despite his success, Niumatalolo remains humble and focused on his team's goals. He is a true leader both on and off the field, and his dedication to his players and his country is an inspiration to all.
