About Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon: The Footloose Rebel
Kevin Bacon was born on July 8, 1958, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in a family of artists and musicians, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion for acting. Bacon started his career in theater, but soon moved to television and film.
Bacon's breakthrough role came in 1984, when he starred in the hit movie Footloose. The film, which was a box office success, made Bacon a household name and cemented his status as a leading man. Bacon's performance as Ren McCormack, a rebellious teenager who fights against a small town's ban on dancing, was praised by critics and audiences alike.
Since then, Bacon has appeared in over 80 films and television shows, including A Few Good Men, Apollo 13, Mystic River, and The Following. He has been nominated for numerous awards, including a Golden Globe for his role in The River Wild.
Bacon is also known for his philanthropic work. He and his wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick, founded the charity SixDegrees.org, which connects people with causes they care about and encourages them to make a difference in their communities.
Despite his success, Bacon remains humble and grounded. He once said, "I'm just a guy who lucked out and got a job in a business that I love." His dedication to his craft and his commitment to making a difference in the world have made him a beloved figure in Hollywood and beyond.
