About Lee Meredith

Lee Meredith was born on October 22, 1947, in River Edge, New Jersey. She grew up in a family of performers, with her mother being a dancer and her father a musician. Meredith started her career as a dancer, performing in Broadway shows such as "Hello, Dolly!" and "Promises, Promises."

However, it was her role as Ulla in the original Broadway production of "The Producers" that brought her widespread recognition. Her performance of the song "When You Got It, Flaunt It" became a showstopper and earned her a Tony Award nomination.

Meredith also appeared in several films, including "The Producers" (1968), "The Night They Raided Minsky's" (1968), and "The Out-of-Towners" (1970). She also made guest appearances on popular TV shows such as "The Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island."

In addition to her acting career, Meredith was also a talented singer and recorded an album titled "Lee Meredith Sings Broadway's Best" in 1969.

Despite her success, Meredith retired from acting in the early 1980s to focus on her family. She has since made occasional appearances at events honoring the legacy of "The Producers."

Meredith's talent and charisma made her a beloved figure in the entertainment industry, and her legacy continues to inspire performers today.
