About Lucy Davis

Lucy Davis is a British actress who has made a name for herself in both the UK and the US. Born on February 17, 1973, in Solihull, England, Davis is the daughter of comedian Jasper Carrott and actress Hazel Jackson. She grew up in Birmingham and attended King Edward VI High School for Girls before studying at the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama.

Davis began her acting career in the mid-1990s, appearing in a number of British TV shows and films. She is perhaps best known for her role as Dawn Tinsley in the hit BBC sitcom The Office, which ran from 2001 to 2003. Her performance as the lovable receptionist earned her critical acclaim and a BAFTA nomination.

In 2004, Davis made her Hollywood debut in the film Shaun of the Dead, directed by Edgar Wright and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Davis's performance as Shaun's ex-girlfriend earned her further recognition.

Davis has since appeared in a number of films and TV shows, including Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Ugly Betty, and The Mentalist. In 2017, she starred in the Netflix series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, playing the role of Hilda Spellman.

Off-screen, Davis has been open about her struggles with bulimia and depression. She has spoken publicly about her experiences in the hopes of raising awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Davis currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, actor Owain Yeoman, and their daughter. She continues to work in both the UK and the US, and is considered one of the most talented and versatile actresses of her generation.
