About Mark Grace
Mark Grace: The Smooth Operator
Mark Grace was born on June 28, 1964, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He grew up playing baseball and was eventually drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1985. Grace quickly became a fan favorite with his smooth swing and effortless fielding.
Over his 16-year career, Grace played for the Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was a three-time All-Star and won four Gold Gloves for his exceptional defense at first base. Grace was also known for his consistency at the plate, hitting over .300 in ten seasons.
Off the field, Grace was a beloved figure in the baseball community. He was known for his quick wit and charm, and was a frequent guest on sports talk shows. Grace was also involved in numerous charitable organizations, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club.
However, Grace's career was not without controversy. In 2002, he was arrested for driving under the influence and was suspended for three games. Grace later admitted to struggling with alcoholism and sought treatment.
Despite this setback, Grace remained a beloved figure in the baseball world. He retired in 2003 with a career batting average of .303 and 2,445 hits. In 2016, he was inducted into the Arizona Diamondbacks Hall of Fame.
Today, Grace works as a broadcaster for the Diamondbacks and is still beloved by fans for his smooth style and easy charm.
