About Mary Elizabeth Ellis
Mary Elizabeth Ellis is a versatile actress who has made a name for herself in both film and television. Born on May 11, 1979, in Laurel, Mississippi, Ellis grew up in a family of performers and was drawn to the stage from an early age. She honed her craft at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where she earned a degree in theater.
Ellis made her television debut in 2001 with a guest role on the hit series "Felicity." She went on to appear in a number of popular shows, including "Without a Trace," "Cold Case," and "The New Adventures of Old Christine." However, it was her role as the waitress "The Waitress" on the long-running comedy "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" that brought her widespread recognition.
Ellis has also made a name for herself on the big screen, appearing in films such as "A Quiet Little Marriage," "Masterminds," and "The Truth About Lies." She has also lent her voice to several animated projects, including "The Lego Batman Movie" and "BoJack Horseman."
Off-screen, Ellis is married to fellow actor Charlie Day, whom she met while studying at the Long Island University. The couple has two children together and frequently collaborate on projects, including the film "Fist Fight."
Despite her success, Ellis remains humble and grounded, citing her family and upbringing as the source of her strength. "I come from a long line of storytellers," she once said in an interview. "It's in my blood."
