About Matt Simms
Matt Simms: The Quarterback Who Never Gave Up
Matt Simms was born into a football family. His father, Phil Simms, was a Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the New York Giants. From a young age, Matt knew he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and become a professional football player.
After a successful high school career, Matt enrolled at the University of Louisville. However, he struggled to find playing time and eventually transferred to Tennessee. Despite being the backup quarterback for most of his college career, Matt never gave up on his dream of playing in the NFL.
In 2012, Matt went undrafted but was signed by the New York Jets as a free agent. He spent the next few years bouncing around the league, playing for the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons, and Tennessee Titans. Despite never being a starting quarterback, Matt continued to work hard and improve his skills.
In 2015, Matt was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as a backup quarterback. He finally got his chance to start in a game later that year when the Falcons' starting quarterback was injured. Matt played well, throwing for 179 yards and a touchdown. However, he was eventually replaced by the team's regular starter.
Matt's perseverance and hard work paid off in 2016 when he was signed by the New York Giants. He spent the next two seasons as the team's backup quarterback, learning from his father's former teammate and current Giants head coach, Tom Coughlin.
Despite never becoming a starting quarterback in the NFL, Matt Simms has proven himself to be a valuable player and a true professional. He continues to work hard and improve his skills, always ready to step in and help his team when called upon.
