About Mohamed Hussein Tantawi

Mohamed Hussein Tantawi is a man who has spent his entire life in service to his country. Born on October 31, 1935, in the small village of Al-Salehiya in the Nile Delta, Tantawi joined the Egyptian military at the age of 16 and quickly rose through the ranks.

Tantawi served as the Minister of Defense under former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, and was appointed as the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces following Mubarak's resignation in 2011. During his time in office, Tantawi oversaw the transition to civilian rule in Egypt and played a key role in the country's political and economic development.

Despite his long career in the military and politics, Tantawi has remained a relatively private figure. He rarely gives interviews or makes public appearances, preferring to work behind the scenes to ensure the stability and security of his country.

Tantawi's legacy is a complicated one, with some Egyptians viewing him as a hero who helped guide the country through a difficult period of transition, while others see him as a symbol of the authoritarianism and corruption that plagued Mubarak's regime.

Regardless of one's opinion of Tantawi, there is no denying the impact he has had on Egypt and its people. His leadership and dedication to his country have earned him the respect and admiration of many, and his contributions to Egypt's political and economic development will be felt for years to come.
