Born in Berkshire, England in 1989, Hoult began his acting career at the age of seven in the British comedy-drama series Casualty. He then landed his first major role in the 2002 film About a Boy, starring alongside Hugh Grant. Despite his early success, Hoult struggled to find his footing in Hollywood.
