About Randy Quaid
Randy Quaid: The Wild and Wacky Life of a Hollywood Maverick
Randy Quaid was born on October 1, 1950, in Houston, Texas. He grew up in a family of actors and musicians, and it was only natural that he would follow in their footsteps. Quaid made his film debut in 1971, in the classic drama "The Last Picture Show," and he quickly became one of Hollywood's most sought-after character actors.
Quaid's career has been marked by a series of memorable performances, including his turn as the hapless Cousin Eddie in the "National Lampoon's Vacation" series, and his portrayal of the doomed pilot in the hit film "Independence Day." But Quaid's personal life has been just as colorful as his on-screen roles.
In recent years, Quaid has made headlines for his bizarre behavior and legal troubles. In 2010, he and his wife were arrested for burglary and vandalism after they were found squatting in a home they once owned. Quaid has also claimed that he and his wife are being targeted by a group of Hollywood "star whackers" who are out to destroy their careers and their lives.
Despite these challenges, Quaid remains a beloved figure in Hollywood, known for his irreverent sense of humor and his willingness to take risks. He has won numerous awards for his work, including an Emmy for his role in the TV movie "LBJ: The Early Years," and he continues to be a sought-after performer in film and television.
As Rolling Stone magazine once noted, "Randy Quaid is a true Hollywood maverick, a man who has always marched to the beat of his own drum. He may be wild and wacky, but he's also one of the most talented actors of his generation, and his legacy in Hollywood is secure."
