About Rhea Perlman
Rhea Perlman is a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood. Born on March 31, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, Perlman is best known for her role as Carla Tortelli on the hit TV show Cheers. But her career spans far beyond that iconic role.
Perlman began her acting career in the early 1970s, appearing in off-Broadway productions and small TV roles. But it wasn't until she landed the role of Carla on Cheers in 1982 that she became a household name. Her portrayal of the tough-talking, no-nonsense waitress earned her four Emmy Awards and a legion of fans.
After Cheers ended in 1993, Perlman continued to work steadily in TV and film. She appeared in the hit movie Matilda in 1996 and had a recurring role on the TV show The Mindy Project from 2013 to 2017.
But Perlman's talents extend beyond acting. She is also a producer, having worked on shows like Kirstie and The Sessions. And she is a philanthropist, supporting causes like the Children's Action Network and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Perlman has been married to actor Danny DeVito since 1982, and the couple has three children together. They have also worked together on several projects, including the TV show Taxi and the movie Matilda.
Despite her success, Perlman remains down-to-earth and dedicated to her craft. As she once said, "I'm not a star. I'm an actor. I have a craft." And it's that dedication to her craft that has made her one of the most beloved actresses in Hollywood.
