About Brotherly Love
Brotherly Love was a family sitcom that aired on NBC from 1995 to 1997. The show starred real-life brothers Joey, Matthew, and Andrew Lawrence as three siblings who move to Philadelphia to live with their aunt after their parents' divorce. The show was a hit with audiences, thanks in part to the chemistry between the Lawrence brothers and the show's heartwarming themes.
The show was created by Jonathan Schmock and Jim Vallely, who had previously worked on The Hogan Family and The Golden Girls. Brotherly Love was a departure from their previous work, as it focused on the lives of three young brothers and their relationships with each other and their extended family.
The Lawrence brothers were already well-known at the time, thanks to their roles in various TV shows and movies. Joey Lawrence, in particular, was a teen heartthrob who had gained fame for his role on Blossom. Brotherly Love gave the brothers a chance to showcase their talents as actors and comedians, and they quickly became fan favorites.
The show's two seasons were filled with memorable moments, including a Halloween episode where the brothers accidentally release a ghost from a haunted house, and a Christmas episode where they try to reunite their aunt with her estranged sister. The show also tackled serious issues, such as divorce and bullying, in a way that was relatable and accessible to its young audience.
Despite its popularity, Brotherly Love was cancelled after two seasons due to low ratings. However, the show remains a beloved part of '90s pop culture, and its themes of family, friendship, and love continue to resonate with audiences today.
