Oz, the groundbreaking HBO series that premiered in 1997, was a gritty and unflinching look at life inside a maximum-security prison. The show's ensemble cast included some of the most talented actors of their generation, including J.K. Simmons, Harold Perrineau, and Edie Falco. But it was the breakout performance of Christopher Meloni as the volatile and unpredictable inmate Chris Keller that truly made the show a must-watch.
