About The Colbys

The Colbys, a spin-off of the popular 80s soap opera Dynasty, follows the lives of the wealthy and powerful Colby family. The show is a prime example of the opulent excess and drama that defined the era of Reaganomics. With its sprawling cast of characters and intricate plotlines, The Colbys was a ratings hit during its two-season run.

At the center of the show is patriarch Jason Colby, played with steely resolve by Charlton Heston. The rest of the family is equally captivating, with standout performances from John James as Jeff Colby and Stephanie Beacham as Sable Colby. The show also featured appearances from guest stars such as Barbara Stanwyck and Katharine Ross.

The Colbys was known for its over-the-top storylines, including kidnapping, murder, and even a trip to outer space. But beneath the glitz and glamour, the show tackled serious issues such as corporate greed and family dysfunction.

Despite its popularity, The Colbys was ultimately cancelled due to declining ratings and high production costs. However, the show remains a cult classic and a nostalgic reminder of the excess and drama of the 80s.
