About The Sooty Show
The Sooty Show, which premiered on British television in 1955, quickly became a beloved children's program. The show starred a puppet named Sooty, who was operated by creator Harry Corbett. Sooty was joined by his friends Sweep and Soo, and together they got into all sorts of misadventures.
The show's popularity led to a spin-off series, as well as a feature film. Sooty even made appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show in the United States. The Sooty Show continued to air until 1992, and has since been revived for new audiences.
Despite its simple premise and low-budget production, The Sooty Show captured the hearts of generations of children. Its enduring popularity is a testament to the charm and creativity of its creators.
